Role Description

The Continuing Care and Family Recovery Programme Coordinators are responsible for the ongoing development and coordination of the Continuing Care and Family Programmes.

The role of the facilitator is to support the delivery of each of these programmes to participants in group settings, both at Tabor Group centres and in community settings. Group facilitation is the primary role of volunteer facilitators working within the Tabor Group.

Is is important to note that this is neither a counselling nor psychotherapeutic role. The main role of the facilitator is one of listening, observing, supporting and enabling the group to function. The facilitator encourages the members to use the group rather than have a one to one counselling session in the group.

Maintaining healthy boundaries is a key part of the role. A non-judgemental approach is essential.
