Monday 1st September - Gratitude Meeting
Tabor Group will host a special edition of our Monthly Gratitude Meeting to mark the beginning of Recovery Month. This uplifting gathering will bring together past clients, alumni, and staff to reflect on the power of gratitude in recovery. Through shared experiences, stories of hope, and moments of connection, we celebrate progress and acknowledge the strength it takes to walk the path of recovery.
From September 1st – 30th: Voices of Recovery
The Voices of Recovery’ focuses on real stories and quotes from past clients. Each week a story or quote will be shared from a past client about their time and experience at Tabor Group across our social media and online channels.
Tuesday 2nd September - A Conversation with Dr. Brian Pennie, hosted by Brian O’Connell
As part of Tabor Group’s flagship Recovery Month event, on Tuesday 2nd September from 2:30pm at Cork City Hall, we invite you to join us for a thought-provoking and inspiring afternoon exploring this year’s central question: Is Society Forgiving?
Hosted by RTÉ journalist and broadcaster Brian O’Connell, the event will feature a powerful keynote conversation with Dr. Brian Pennie - a neuroscientist, author, and passionate advocate for mental health and addiction recovery. Having overcome a 15-year heroin addiction, Dr. Pennie is now a lecturer at Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin, sharing his personal journey of transformation and societal reintegration.
New for 2025, the event will also feature a panel discussion to further explore the theme Is Society Forgiving? Featuring voices from across sectors, including lived experience, justice, healthcare, and recovery services, the panel will provide a diverse and honest examination of how society engages with those on the recovery journey.
