Tabor Group was delighted to welcome Lord Mayor Cllr Tony Fitzgerald and Lady Mayoress Georgina Fitzgerald to Tabor Lodge on May 23.
The sun shone down as the Lord Mayor was shown around the facilities at the 28-day Residential Treatment Centre, part of the Tabor Group.
The Lord Mayor was welcomed by Chairman of the Board of Directors Denis Healy, interim General Manager Tom O’Dwyer, Clinical Director Mick Devine and Treatment Manager of Fellowship House Finbarr Cassidy.
Topics discussed included the exciting new build and impending opening of Fellowship House and the ongoing challenges for people suffering with addictions.
Chairman Denis Healy said: “It was wonderful to meet with the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress and welcome them to our Tabor Lodge, on such a beautiful day. We always look forward to meeting the Lord Mayor every year and explaining the addiction treatment work that goes on here, as part of Tabor Group.
“As a charity, it is important that our political leaders and representatives in City Hall understand the life-saving care and support that Tabor Group provide to over 300 people every year,” he said.
“The Lord Mayor was most attentive and it was clear that he is a huge supporter of addiction care services. We are most grateful to him for taking the time out of his incredibly busy schedule to sit down with us and have a wonderful conversation. As his terms ends shortly, we also want to thank him and wish him well in all future endeavours,” said Mr Healy.
